The Phillip Group Land Cookery Day will be held on Saturday, March 12, at Mortdale RSL Club (25 Macquarie Place) – and everyone is welcome to come and watch the judging.

 Seven of our Sydney City branch members have made it through to the group finals for the annual Land Cookery Competition. The winners will go on to showcase their bakes, jams and preserves at the grand finals to be held at the centenary CWA conference at Randwick Racecourse in May.

 The group finals will be hotly contested, with the best entries from the six branches in Phillip Group competing.

 The judging will start at 10.30am – and it should be entertaining. I’ve only been to one before and was amazed when a winning Sydney City entry was “queried”. All the cakes were then brought back out to be measured… with a tape measure! As I said, the content is hotly contested!!
